FREDERICTON, N.B. – Forest NB congratulates the recently appointed ministers and looks forward to working with the cabinet as it moves to deliver on its mandate of returning fiscal balance to New Brunswick.
The appointment of Mike Holland to the energy and resource development portfolio is viewed as a positive step in that Mr. Holland has demonstrated during the election campaign a willingness to understand the issues facing the forestry sector and a recognition of the importance of the sector to the well being of New Brunswickers.
“Despite the challenges faced by the forestry sector including trade tarrifs, proposed constraints on well established forest management practices, carbon pricing, and unprecedented worksafe premium increases, our sector has persisted and continues to lead the manufacturing sector in growth,” commented Mike Legere, executive director of the forestry association Forest NB.
“We look forward to contributing to this government’s delivery of an economic revival so that New Brunswickers can continue to live and work in their communities and enjoy a standard of living that is deserved of a citizen of this province,” added Legere.
